Black and Yellow

It was late in the afternoon when a friend of mine invited me out for a dinner. Even though I was kind of exhausted that day, I still pushed through going to Trinoma.

The sun was about to set at 5:30 pm when I left home. I had to walk fast down to the highway to avoid the traffic in Edsa bound to South.

I was standing at the stop light as I wait for my turn to cross the highway when someone held me at my back, and rode in the bus with me.

That was Alvin, HRM student, a friend of mine since I was on my first year college in CTHM. We started chatting with each other as we head on to Trinoma, I didnt mind the aircon that killed me softly that moment, it was unmovable though.

The pow wow gets deeper as the night becomes older. Thinking about how time really flies back then when we started being classmates during PE (Fitness), back when we somehow looked like a totoy and a nene three years ago. And now the hell, we’ll be having our practicum soon. Now that we’re graduating students already! Well that was really fast.

We arent that close, but then as we get near SM North, we started sharing about our own lives and whereabouts. I didnt know the reason behind how and why he had his business thing, whatever the cause was truly a life-changing experience. Its something about the turning of the world, upside down.

I never thought that someone like him would open up such thing to me. We dont talk much in school and we dont even see each other that often. All the time we were having a conversation, he made me feel egoistic about him because of his willingness and courage to help his parents out at his age. For chrissake, he’s like three months younger than me and I never did try standing on my own. He made me realize that as long as Im still young, I should have the urge of producing something out of my passion.

That moment, I took in the concept that somehow at this generation, there are still children left helping their parents as they pursue their own dreams. I can say that he was brought up by his parents correctly, perfectly.

He’s such a sweet guy to get pasalubongs for his mom whenever he goes home. I kid him to drop by at home whenever he has an ‘uwi’ for his parents. And he promised that. LMAO.

He, literally, is an adorable guy. Very often in this life that you’d find someone like him.

Im proud of you, my friend!

Took sips of iced coffee at CBTL. Headed home at 9:45pm.
